Canton runs on a blend rather than a single source. In its 2023 reporting the town used about 2.6 million gallons a day, roughly fifty-eight percent purchased from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority and the remaining forty-two percent drawn locally from eight groundwater wells feeding the Sullivan and Moran treatment facilities.
