Hull was built as a resort. Development of Hull Hill began in the 1870s and ran hardest through the 1880s and 1890s, opened up when the Hingham Water Company reached the town in 1882 and the railroad arrived the same year; Paragon Park followed in 1905, and steamboats, trains and hotels brought visitors by the million into the 1950s.
