We won't sell you a replacement you don't need.

A lot of "broken" disposals are jammed, not dead. We check the simple things first — reset button, hex key unjam, clog clearing — before we recommend anything new. If you do need a replacement, we stock common units and confirm the next available installation slot directly.

    What We Do

    Jammed Disposal

Humming but not spinning is almost always a jam. We use a hex key to manually free the grinding plate, check for foreign objects, and test the reset button. If it runs clean afterward, you're done — no new unit needed.

    Full Disposal Replacement

When the motor's burned out or the unit is past its useful life, we replace it. We install InSinkErator, Waste King, and Moen units. We match your sink setup and handle all the drain connections and dishwasher line work.

Leak at the Flange or Drain

A leak at the top of the disposal (between the unit and the sink) is usually a flange seal failure — often fixable without replacing the whole unit. We diagnose where it's coming from before recommending any work.

    Won't Turn On At All

Before calling us, try the reset button on the bottom of the unit. If it still won't start, it may be a tripped GFCI outlet, a wiring issue, or a motor failure. We'll trace the actual cause.

    Grinding Noise or Vibration

Metal rattling, grinding, or vibration usually means a piece of silverware, a bone fragment, or a broken impeller is in the grinding chamber. We remove the obstruction and check the impellers before anything else.

    Upgrade to a Quieter Unit

If you're tired of a loud, weak disposal, a higher-horsepower InSinkErator (3/4 HP or 1 HP) is dramatically quieter and more powerful. We handle the full swap — old unit out, new unit in, tested before we leave.

December and January are our busiest disposal months.

Holiday cooking season is hard on disposals. If yours is running rough or making noise, get it checked before you're hosting Thanksgiving or Christmas — not during.

    Brands We Work With

We install and repair all major garbage disposal brands. When we recommend a replacement, we'll tell you what we'd put in our own kitchen.

Market leader — wide range from 1/2 HP to 1 HP. Most common on the South Shore.

    Waste King

Reliable and often quieter per dollar. Good mid-range option.

    Moen

    Sound-dampened models. Solid warranty program.

    Garbage Disposal FAQs

My disposal is humming but not spinning — do I need a replacement?

Not necessarily. A humming disposal that does not spin usually means the motor is jammed, not dead. There is a reset button on the bottom of the unit and a hex key port to manually free the grinding plate. This is often a five-minute fix. Call us before buying a new unit — we will tell you honestly whether you need one.

How long do garbage disposals last?

It depends on how heavily the unit has been used and whether it has been jammed or leaked over time. If the housing and motor are still sound, repair can make sense. If the motor is burned out or the unit is leaking from the bottom, replacement is usually the better call.

My disposal is leaking — where is the leak coming from?

Disposal leaks usually come from one of three places: the top flange seal (where it meets the sink drain), the side discharge hose (connection to the dishwasher), or the bottom of the unit (internal seal failure). Flange leaks are repairable. A leak from the bottom usually means the internal seals have failed and replacement makes more sense.

How quickly can you replace a garbage disposal?

Call (617) 479-9911 and we will review the problem and current schedule with you. Once we know whether the unit needs repair or replacement, we will confirm the next available appointment directly.
