Yes. We install, service, and repair current Rinnai tankless models across the South Shore. Navien and Viessmann are our flagship specialties, but Rinnai is a widely-supported brand and a great fit for like-for-like retrofits where one is already in place — so we keep the parts and know-how to service them properly.
What are the most common Rinnai problems?
By far the most common is scale buildup from hard water — the South Shore has plenty — which shows up first as an LC maintenance code and, if ignored, eventually as a Code 14 overheat. After that it's gas-supply issues (Code 11 no ignition, Code 12 flame failure) and venting/air blockages (Code 10). Most are straightforward once you read the code.
How often should a Rinnai be descaled?
Roughly once a year, and more often with very hard water. Regular descaling is the single best thing you can do for a tankless heater — it prevents the LC and Code 14 faults, keeps efficiency up, and extends the unit's life. We can do it as part of annual service.
My Rinnai is showing an error code — what should I do?
Write the code down exactly, check that the gas is fully on and the vent outside is clear, and try one power-cycle. If the code comes back, call us at (617) 479-9911 with the code and your model number. Don't keep resetting a unit that's locking out — it's telling you something specific.
